Plantation Wildlife Festival 2019
Such an Honor to have FINALLY been juried into this awesome event/show! I set this goal in 2009 when I moved to Georgia. Worked on improving my skills inbetween applications - at least every other year. The only bigger venue of this kind is held in Charleston SC in February. Very well-known and collected artists from around the world bring their amazing new creations to these two events. I met many of them and was thrilled! Sold 4 paintings...and was highly encouraged to come back again!
Update...Covid rearranged plans for the following 2 years...hopefully it will be back to normal in 2022!

27th Art In Gadsden: A Regional Exhibition of Fine Art!
October 9, 2015, Gadsden Art Center in Quincy, Florida.
Applications for entry into this prestigious event are limited to artists living within 200 miles of Gadsen...a bedroom community of Tallahassee. It is highly competitive and very well attended each year. This was a wonderful honor to have been selected with this painting - which began as a plein air piece on a wonderful trip to the shore at St. Marks.

American Society for Marine Artists (ASMA)
Southern Regional Exhibition
Gadsen Arts Center - Quincy, Florida
I am honored to have this work chosen to be included in this prestigious show! Having been accepted as a member of this highly acclaimed society was an honor by itself. They have annual regional shows and one national per year - displaying works of some of the most accomplished and sought-after marine artists from around the country. I just happened to be close enough to consider trying for this one - and was pleasantly surprised to have been invited!
This painting was on and off the easel for awhile - and I finally decided it was time to bring it on home. So glad I did!
Solo Exhibition 2014...Boston, Ga.
A local gallery owner wanted to feature my work in a solo show - and said 'pick a subject - and do about 30 paintings!' What a challenge! The subject matter was a no-brainer. Having been a 'birder' around water most of my life - that was the easy part. Now - with a deadline - turning those experiences into paintings - was the best thing I could do for my art. We were both thrilled with the attendance and sales - especially for such a small community.
This painting is a larger version of an 8x10 that was sold that night...along with a few others in my online gallery.
I get outside every chance I can to take in the sights, sounds, smells of nature.
Alone, or with others of like mind...it's a necessary part of life...socializing, and honing one's skills.
Artists are a great bunch to be around...we share tips, shows, and great food too!
